DHUNCHE/KATHMANDU: A passenger jeep veered off the mountainous road and plunged about 50 metres down at Mulkharka area of Ramche of Rasuwa district on Monday evening.

The condition of passengers and driver was not known after the accident.

A search and rescue operation, led by  Chief District District Officer Krishna Prasad Adhikari, was dispatched to the incident site from the district headquarters Dhunche. The incident site is southwest of Dhunche towards Nuwakot and Kathmandu.

It was immediately not known how many passengers were on board the ill-fated vehicle.

Police said they are trying to find out the number of people and looking for them.
