Dhankuta, December 24:

President of All Nepal National Free Students’ Union Ram Kumari Jhankri today accused the Maoists of continuing to attack people who disagree with their views.

“The recent attack on Himalmedia is just a chapter in this series. Despite leading the government, the Maoists are launching attack on free press. We condemn such atrocities,” Jhankri said, addressing a programme organised by the Dhankuta chapter of Press Chautari Nepal here today. She also demanded the Maoists’ stand on free press.

Jhankri also said the rights of youths and students needed to be incorporated in the new constitution.

“Though education, health and employment are guaranteed as fundamental rights in the constitution,” the student leader said, adding, “It is a challenge to ensure them.” Jhankri also said unity among all and revolution in the education sector were the most for cultural transformation of the country.
