RAJBIRAJ: A joint team of security personnel has begun the repairing of a dam in Mahuli River of Tirhut Rural Municipality-5 in Saptari district. The dam has been damaged by the flood in the river caused by incessant rain for the past few days.

According to the Chief District Officer Krishna Bahadur Katwal, the Rajbiraj-based Krishnadal Battalion of Nepal Army has despatched a 70-member squad to repair the damaged dam. Moreover, separate teams from the Armed Police Force and Nepal Police are in the flood-affected sites for repairing and maintenance of the dam.

The swollen river has gushed out to the settlements entirely inundating it by damaging the dam at five points at the distance of few metres.

Moreover, the flood from the river has displaced people from several settlements in the locality.
