Activists of the Jwala Singh-led Janatantrik Tarai Mukti Morcha (JTMM-Jwala) captured a house and some land belonging to Nepali Congress (NC) joint general secretary Dr Ram Baran Yadav at Janakpur municipality-9 last night.
Around 50 JTMM-Jwala cadres broke into the house while there was only worker there and hoisted the JTMM-Jwala flag.
“We captured Yadav’s house,” said JTMM-Jwala central member Rajan Mukti. Pasting a handwritten pamphlet on the wall of the house, the JTMM-Jwala warned of physical action to Dr Yadav if he did not renounce claim to the home.
JTMM-Jwala Janakpur in-charge Dilip led the group that captured Yadav’s house and land peacefully, Rajan said, adding: “Dr Yadav has passed remarks against the sentiments of the Madhesis. His house was captured as he is involved in anti-Madhesi movements.”
“A flag has been hoisted on the premises of Dr Yadav’s home. A pamphlet also has been pasted saying that Dr Yadav’s house and land have been captured,” said the Dhanusha district police office.
Saying that some anti-social elements are active and trying to spread anarchy in society, Dr Yadav said: “The house and land belong to me.” He urged the people to be alert against those trying to foil the CA polls. The Dhanusha Nepali Congress has condemned the incident.
Meanwhile, the NC today condemned the capturing of Dr Ram Baran Yadav’s house and demanded that the government should take action against the culprits.
