The National Judicia l Academy will be established very soon to provide trainings to judges, court officials and lawyers on ways to tackle new challenges.
"As the King has already promulgated the National Academy Act, 2004, the process for setting up NJA will start very soon," Supreme Court spokesperson Dr Ramkrishna Timalsena told The Himalayan Times. The King promulgated the Act last week.
"The NJA will provide trainings to judges, court officials and legal practitioners on recent legal trends," Timalsena said, adding, "Now, there is no obstacle to set up the Academy, which will benefit about 10,000 legal brains." The UNDP has agreed to provide Rs 480 million aid to set up NJA. The NJA, as an autonomous body, will conduct research on legal issues. It will also provide legal aid and information to the needy.
Advocate Yubaraj Sangroula said there is an urgent need to provide trainings to judges and court officials regarding modern trends in the legal field.
