Jumla locals return home

The locals of several VDCs of Jumla, who were displaced for the past 10 months due to the Maoists’ threat for donation, returned back to their homes on Monday.

Around 111 persons belonging to 29 families of Baramalika and Kankasundari VDCs were compelled to stay at the open air theatre in Birendranagar. They had been passing a miserable life in the open field after being displaced from their homes last August. With the joint initiation of rights activists and journalists, the villagers were able to return . After the Maoists started pressuring them for donations, the villagers were compelled to leave their places.
