DHANGADHI, FEBRUARY 15

After instances of threat from a tiger in Kailali district, the local administration has ordered to kill the tiger, if required.

A meeting of the District Security Committee, Kailali held on Sunday decided to deploy security personnel from Armed Police Force and Highway Police to take the animal under control.

According to Chief District Officer, Yagya Raj Bohara, officials have been taking the activities of the tiger seriously and as such have been corresponding to concerned authorities for the management of the matter. He said, the security personnel would first try to incapacitate the tiger to bring it under control and then, if need be, can kill the animal if things get out of control, in line with the existing laws.

Similarly, the officials are also trying to coordinate with senior authorities of Division Forest Office in this case.

Deputy Superintendent of Police Pratik Bista at District Police Office, Kailali, informed that security personnel have been deployed in the areas of Gauriganga Municipality and Kailari Rural Municipality, where incidents of attack have been reported.

The tiger sighted on February 14 had killed one person and injured another the same day.
