Jigaun (Banke), July 12:
A Karnali Air helicopter, which took off from Humlaâ€™s Simikot at 12:20 pm, met with an accident in Jigaun of Bankeâ€™s Bankatuwa VDC today.
The helicopter met with the accident at a muddy field in Jigaun after a mechanical problem in its wing. All the passengers and crews on board are safe, said in-charge of the area police office Kohalpur, SI Raj Bahadur Thapa.
That was because of the careful handling of the situation by pilot Sabin Basnet, said sub-inspector Thapa. Seven persons, including two crew members, were on board the 9N AEL
helicopter. There were five passengers in the helicopter, including two Indians and three Nepalis.
â€œThe helicopter had to make an emergency landing due to a mechanical problem in its wing,â€ said head of the Civil Aviation Authority in Nepalgunj, Suresh Kumar Azad.
