Kavre journo gets death threat
DHULIKHEL: Keshav Raj Poudel, assistant editor of Choutari weekly, published from Kavre, said today that he received death threat in connection with an article authored by him.
Raju Majhi, head teacher of Bindhabasini Lower Secondary School in Mandan, threatened him over the phone that he “would kill you within seven days and bomb your house”. Majhi also scolded him using expletives.
According to Poudel, Majhi was irked about an article published in the local Chesta weekly.
Meanwhile, district chapter of Federation of Nepalese Journalists expressed its concern over the threat. Issuing a press release, the FNJ concluded that the Nepali press has always been target and the journalists are always insecure.
It also urged the authority concerned to contain such activity and take action against the culprits.
The FNJ called on the government to provide security to the journalists.
