KC lambasts favouritism in NC

Kathmandu, July 20:

Nepali Congress spokesperson Arjun Narsingh KC said today that the NC has been plagued by favouritism.

“Earlier, the Nepali Congress used to be guided by its principles and now the party is being guided by favouritism,” KC said while addressing a function organised on the occasion of BP Memorial Day by BP Koirala Literature and Research Academy, Nepal.

He asked students to work for the people and the country instead of hobnobbing with leaders. The NSU should practice competitive politics and shun the tendency of fighting among each other and forming factions, the NC leader said.

KC said the major reason behind the NC’s defeat in theCA polls was the divided mentality among the leaders. He also said the recent tri-party agreement among the NC, UML and MJF was not against the CPN-Maoist but was necessary to control the latter’s behaviour.

Another NC leader Dhan Raj Gurung expressed dissatisfaction at the present political development. “It’s the time to pursue consensus and not to opt for a majoritarian politics, which could invite further crisis in the country,” he said.
