KDC quizzes 50 ‘defaulters’

Kathmandu, June 21:

The Kathmandu District Court (KDC) today started interrogating persons accused in a bank default cases filed yesterday by the Kathmandu District Government Attorney’s Office (KDGAO).

The KDGAO had filed the chargesheets against Sitaram Prasain and 49 others. According to the Register of the KDC, Krishna Ram Koirala, the interrogation began in the bench of Judge Bir Bahadur Dangi, though 16 cases have been assigned to six benches.

According to Koirala, statements of businessmen of the Mittal Tea Industries in Jhapa were recorded today.

According to advocate Madav Banskota, the court will decide on whether or not to grant bail for the defendants while proceeding with the case.
