Jhapa, November 23

Civil Society and political parties active in Jhapa organised a khabardari sabha against any attempt being made to separate Sunsari, Morang and Jhapa from Province No 1 in Birtamode today.

Representatives from NC, CPN-UML, CPN-ML, Rastriya Prajatantra Party-Nepal, Federal Limbuwan Party and various social organisations participated in the rally. The rally took a round of Birtamode Municipality.

They shouted slogans demanding that Jhapa, Morang and Sunsari should not be split from province No 1.

CPN-UML leader and lawmaker Rabin Koirala said that attempts were on to disintegrate the southern part of Tarai to meet vested interests.

Koirala demanded investigation of the citizenship certificate of some United Democratic Madhesi Front leaders accusing them of openly trying to split the country.

Lawmaker Man Kumar Gautam asked the civil society to take action against some Madhesi leaders that carry ill intentions.
