Khanal warns Maoists

BIRGUNJ: CPN-UML chairman Jhalanath Khanal today warned of dire consequence in case the Maoists began violent activities in the name of protests in the country.

Hinting at the Maoist-announced agitation in the name of civil supremacy, he said, "That is irrelevant in the present context."

Addressing a programme organised by his party here in Birgunj of Parsa, he said that the government has four major responsibilities: maintaining peace, writing constitution, restructuring nation and improving the national unity.

The UML chief also expressed worry stating that the habit of party leaders speaking one thing and doing the other has posed a question on their credibility.

He also directed the party line to forsake the groupism and conspiracy against one another.

Khanal said that the training campaign for his party activists would be launched in various districts in the country in order to strengthen the party.
