Khotang set to witness tight electoral battle

Khotang, November 19

On the eve of the upcoming elections, voters have started electoral calculations in Khotang. Tough competition is expected between candidates from the left and the democratic alliance in the district.

Saraswati Bajimaya from Nepali Congress and Bishal Bhattari of CPN-UML will contest for the parliamentary berth in the district’s single constituency.

Similarly, Subash Kumar Pokhrel from democratic alliance and Rajan Rai from the left alliance will battle for the provincial polls in Khotang Constituency Ka. Likewise, Bishnu Rai from democratic alliance and Ram Kumar Rai from the left alliance will be contesting for the provincial election in Khotang Constituency Kha.

Rai in his home district, Khotang.

Krishna Kumar Rai from FSF-N and Madan Rai from Naya Shakti Party-Nepal are parliamentary candidates in the district. As many as 19 candidates from CPN-ML, Rastriya Janata Party-Nepal, Rastriya Prajatantra Party-Democratic, National Mongol Organisation, Rastriya Janamukti Party, and Unified Rastriya Prajatantra Party (Nationalist), among others, are in the poll race in the district.

Results from civic polls show that the left alliance stronger than the democratic alliance. As many as 9,539 voters were added in the voter list since civic polls. All political parties have launched their election activities in the district to defeat their rivals and to attract the voters.
