Damauli, April 29

The relatives of a woman, who were found hanging along with her son in Kyamin, Tanahun, have filed an FIR with the district police office suspecting the hands of her husband and father-in-law in the ‘murder’.

Rita Thapa, 24, and her five-year-old son Misan were found hanging from the ceiling in her house in Kyamin-2, Majhaphant on Tuesday.

Suspecting the murder, Rita’s parents filed an FIR against her husband Man Bahadur and father-in-law Ram Bahadur Thapa yesterday. According to DPO spokesperson DSP Rakesh Singh, the duo is under police surveillance following the FIR.

Meanwhile, the bodies of Rita and her son will be taken to TU Teaching Hospital for post-mortem. “After the deceased woman’s parents were not ready to conduct autopsy in Damauli Hospital, the bodies will now be taken to TU Teaching Hospital in Kathmandu,” said inspector Krishna Kumar Mahat.

The deceased’s kin picketed the district police office, demanding that police bring to light the truth behind the incident at the earliest.
