Kin of road mishap victim block Nepalgunj road

Nepalgunj, January 6:

Relatives of Prabha Bista, who died after being hit by a truck, halted traffic in Nepalgunj today demanding compensation for Bista’s family and action against the truck driver.

Following the traffic obstruction on the road section, vehicles headed for different parts of the country stayed off the road today.

The Nepalgunj-Kohalpur road section was also obstructed after kin of Bista placed boulders.

Gathering at the Karkando Chowk, they demanded action against the killer driver and compensation for her sons four-year-old Top Bahadur and two-year-old Shiva Raj, 4. Twenty-five-year-old Bista, who hailed from Dailekh and was living in Dhambojhi of Nepalgunj-1, died on Friday after she was hit by a truck. Her relatives had also blocked the road on Friday demanding compensation.

The bereaved family said: “The road was blocked again today as our demands have not been fulfilled.” The bereaved family has claimed Rs 600,000 as compensation. However, the committee of truck entrepreneurs said it is ready to pay Rs 1,50,000 as compensation.
