King grants audience to top businessmen

King Gyanendra granted collective audience to various distinguished personalities of Singapore today.
Those receiving audience among those present at a reception hosted by minister for foreign affairs Ramesh Nath Pandey were senior industrialists and businessmen of Singapore. Also present at the function were vice-chairman of the council of ministers Kirtinidhi Bista and Royal Nepali honorary consular general for singapore, MN Swai, and other seniors officers.
The director of the Singapore Manufacturers’ Foundation, Dr Tan Kee Wee, said he and other industrialists were willing to invest in Nepal.
He said that over 2,000 industries are affiliated to the foundation and informed that a delegation will soon visit Nepal to find out in which sectors they can invest.
Associate manager of the Mainland Tropical Fish Farm, Desmond Yeoh said as there is a good potential for fisheries in Nepal, investment and business can be made in this sector, and informed that his farm exports ornamental fish worth $100 million.
Mohammad Mustafa and Samsuddhin Company Pvt Ltd managing director Mustaq Ahmad said most of the Nepali businessmen are the customers of his company, and added that he was greatly encouraged to invest in Nepal after meeting the King.
