Dhankuta, November 10:

American Ambassador to Nepal James F Moriarty has stressed on the importance of alliance between the King and political parties for solving the present crisis of Nepal. He further said the US government has always been against terrorism and in favour of democracy. Ambassador Moriarty made this remark today in Dhankuta in a meeting with representatives of different social organisations, civic society, human right activists and local industrialists and businessmen of Dhankuta in course of a two-day visit to the eastern region.

He also acquired information about the political and security situations in the district.

Ambassador Moriarty also expressed his belief that democracy will soon be reinstated in Nepal. He further assured that America would help as much as it can for the restoration of peace and democracy in Nepal. Moriarty also met the CDO and security officials and acquired information about peace and security situation, Maoist activities and preparations for the elections, Chief District Officer, Shambhu Ghimire said. Moriarty also distributed educational materials to 26 Dalit students gathered on the premises of the Dalit Society Welfare Association, Dhankuta, today. He also visited Hile Bazaar.

Later today Ambassador Moriarty returned to the capital. Moriarty had also met local journalists of Itahari of Sunsari to acquire information about situation journalists and human right situation of the region.
