King should shed powers: Ranabhat
Bhairahawa, March 12:
Speaker of dissolved House of Representative, Taranath Ranabhat, today said the King should drop the ambition of ruling the country and shed powers. Speaking at a programme here, Ranabhat said the King should stand as the patron of constitution.
“Turning deaf ears to the problems of people, Dr Tulsi Giri and others are advocating for active monarchy but it’s not the time for active monarchy,” he said. He said the King should work as per the spirit of principle that the King can do no wrong.
He asked the King to avoid rigidity, seven parties to avoid destruction and damage and Maoists to avoid guns.
Saying election to a constituent assembly cannot resolve the crisis, he said such an election would break the country into pieces.
