King’s message against people’s wishes: Sitaula

Home Minister Krishna Prasad Sitaula today said the king could not hold back the achievements of the Jana Andolan-II.

Inaugurating the second Kaski conference of the Nepal Women’s Association (NWA) in Pokhara, Sitaula said, “Nobody can hold back the achievements of the Nepalis.”

“Nobody has the courage to go against the wishes of people. The parties are working sincerely to fulfill the objectives of the Jana Andolan-II.”

Stating that King Gyanendra’s message on the occasion of the National Democracy Day was against the achievement of the people’s movement, Sitaula said: “The king has no right to deliver such messages without the consent of the Council of Ministers.”

Saying that CA polls will be held by mid-June at any cost, Sitaula urged all political parties to work actively to hold the CA polls in a free and fair manner.

He said the issues raised in Madhesis would be resolved soon. Stating that the fate of the king would be decided by the CA, Sitaula said, “The king’s attempts to grab power cannot succeed.”
