King’s visit to Palpa cancelled

Palpa, March 11:

The King’s visit to Palpa, which was slated for today, was cancelled due to an inclement weather, a highly-placed security source said. The King was scheduled to arrive in Palpa at 10 am to offer Pooja at the Bhairabsthan temple and make an inspection of Tansen thereafter.

Many offices were destroyed when the Maoists launched an attack in Tansen on January 31.

The visit had to be cancelled as the weather condition worsened suddenly, the source said, adding it was informed about the trip cancellation at 10 am.

The King was scheduled to offer pooja to Batuk Bhairab and Bhairabmai at the temple.

The news of the cancellation of the trip made the locals and the priests, who were awaiting to receive the King, sad.

The news also disappointed chiefs of government offices, chiefs of security bodies and locals, who were awaiting in Tansen, the district headquarters of Palpa, to receive the King.
