Phidim: Kirant Janabadi Workers Party (KJWP) on Sunday called for an indefinite Panchthar bandh demanding the release of its cadres, who were detained by the police on Wednesday from Phidim. Normal life in the district has come to a standstill due to the bandh. The police have arrested a KJWP cadre, who was enforcing the bandh. Market places, industries and shops in the district remained shut and no vehicles plied on the road.

Meanwhile, political parties except the bandh organiser and local businessmen have agreed to defy the bandh.
