Kirat state to punish agents of alien forces

KATHMANDU: A day after the Maoist supremo Pushpa Kamal Dahal "Prachanda" announced the fourth phase of movement, the Unified CPN-Maoist's central committee member and the convener of newly declared Kirat republican state Gopal Kirati today said the

party would begin taking action against persons serving foreign interests.

"As per the party's decision, we will take physical action against the agents of foreign powers in our state," Kirati said during a press meet organised to announce the first phase of struggle by his state here

today. He, however, did not divulge the type of action to be meted out.

Kirati claimed that his party would consider the supporters of the civilian supremacy as nationalist forces while those supporting military supremacy as anti-nationalist forces.

He also said the party would

begin exposure campaign from the Chief of the Army Staff Chhatraman Singh Gurung, for he failed to react to his Indian counterpart when the latter "tried to intervene into Nepal's internal affairs".

"The government should take action against CoAS Gurung and seek clarification," he said, adding that the Maoists would begin the exposure campaign in a "stringent way".

According to him, the Kirat state has decided to organise campaign to monitor the border security and national awareness programmes as per the party's decision.

On the first phase, 100-member team, including party central committee members Peshal Khatiwada, Padam Bahadur

Rai and Himal, will visit Ilam,

Jhapa, Morang, Sunsari and Birgunj.

"The march will begin on January 15 from Gaighat and end

on January 23" he said. The team will comprise cadres of Young Communist League, various fronts of the party and artistes, besides the Constituent Assembly members.

The recently-announced Kirant state of the Maoists includes Okhaldhunga, Khotang, Bhojpur, Udaypur and parts of Sankhuwasabha and Solukhumbu districts. Debates are still on regarding the parts of the two districts within the party.

Kirati said that through the autonomous states they would gradually go for the formation of interim peoples' government.

However, United National People's Movement will coordinate the same from the central level.
