Sunsari, December 22 Khambuwan Liberation Front (Joint), which has been carrying out armed activities in eastern Nepal for long, surrendered its firearms to the government talks team in Sunsari today. A team led by the front’s coordinator David Khumbu handed over the weapons, which included five traditional guns, a pistol and its magazine and four bullets to the government talks team coordinator Som Prasad Pande amidst a press conference at the District Administration Office, Sunsari. Meanwhile, Janatantrik Tarai Liberation Front (Vivek group) also submitted its remaining arms to the government talks team today. The group led by Binod Kumar Yadav, aka Vivek Yadav, submitted a pistol to the government’s talks team at District Administration Office, Sunsari. The group agreed to join peaceful politics following positive talks with the government talks team at the Morang District Administration on November 13. Sunsari Chief District Officer Prem Prakash Upreti, District Police Office chief Rajan Adhikari, Armed Police Force Sunsari chief Suresh Kumar Shrestha, National Investigation chief Tika Prasad Pokharel, among others, were present on the occasion today.
