Kathmandu, September 23

The Kathmandu Metropolitan City is planning to build more underground parking lots as the metropolis struggles to manage parking spaces for ever increasing number of vehicles.

KMC Spokesperson Gyanendra Karki said they were planning to build more underground parking lots at different places in Kathmandu Valley.

He also said that they were planning to come up with a policy of making offices responsible for managing their own parking spaces.

“Lack of parking area vexes vehicle owners but it is not right to park on the already congested roads,” said Karki, adding,  “KMC has been managing the parking spaces in the city and we are also planning to build underground parking lots in public places,” said  Karki.
