Sindhupalchowk, March 15:
CPN (UML) general secretary Madhav Kumar Nepal today said Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala will have to be held responsible if the Constituent Assembly election is not held as planned by mid-June .
Inaugurating the sixth district conference of the Sindhupalchowk district chapter of CPN (UML) in Chautara, Nepal said, “PM Koirala must take the moral responsibility if the CA poll is not held by the deadline of mid-June .”
“As people are the real power, the Maoists should give up their arrogance of weapons and create an atmosphere to attract people towards them,” Nepal said, adding that the Maoist terror still pervades the villages.
Stating that the issue of formation of an interim government will be settled by Friday, Nepal said the formation of the interim government and passing a law about constituent assembly poll will take place simultaneously.
“Maoists should stop inappropriate intervention in the government’s acts,” Nepal said. Meanwhile, speaking at a press meet organised by the Sindhupalchowk chapter of FNJ, Nepal said the parties have not made any decision regarding who will lead the interim government.
“If all forces work actively, the CA poll can be held in three months,” Nepal said, adding, “The king will get active if the CA poll is not held on time.”
