Oli accuses government of being incompetent

Biratnagar, November 18

CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli today accused the incumbent Sher Bahadur Deuba-led government of being incompetent. Oli said the government to be formed after the parliamentary polls would be competent and stable.

Talking to mediapersons at Biratnagar airport, Oli said the government had failed to provide security to poll candidates. “The state of security is fragile now. The situation will improve only after the formation of new government following the polls,” Oli added.

Oli also said attacks were launched targeting poll candidates to disrupt elections. “The government has to identify the people and group involved in attacks,” Oli said, adding, “The government has to take action against the people involved in bomb explosion”.

Oli further accused the government of moving ahead arbitrarily and forgetting democratic values. indicating towards the remarks aired by NC leader Ram Sharan Mahat, Oli said Mahat’s remarks were the reflection of defeated mentality. After the improvised explosive device exploded targeting the vehicle carrying Mahat in Nuwakot, Mahat had blamed left alliance candidates for the bomb attack. “An educated person like Mahat shouldn’t have spoken those words,” Oli added.

Oli expressed dissatisfaction with the role of the Election Commission.
