BIRGUNJ, August 6

Former Constituent Assembly member and Sadbhawana Party central Vice-chairman Shiva Chandra Kushwaha, who was held on the charge of manhandling security personnel two weeks ago, was released on bail in Bara on Thursday.

Kushwaha was released after posting Rs 20,000 as bail at District Administration Office Bara on Thursday.

A public offence case had been filed against him on the charge of mistreating Bara SP Lokendra Bahadur Malla and DSP Rabindra Regmi.

He misbehaved with the police officers at District Police Office, Bara, when he was being interrogated on the charge of his involvement in demolishing a local’s house on July 24. After the incident, he was kept in detention.
