LAMJUNG: The number of land registration in the name of women have been increasing lately in Lamjung district, following the provision that allows 25 per cent registration fee waiver if the land is registered in the name of a female member of the family.

As many as 1,521 of the total 5,423 land transactions made in Fiscal Year 2073/74 in the district were made in the names of female family members.

The government had made the provision of 25 per cent registration fee waiver for land transactions done in the name of female members of the family, Dalits, indigenous nationalities, senior citizens, persons with disability and martyrs’ families about 10 years ago, said Chief of Lamjung Land Revenue Office Harihar Dahal.

Dahal further added that there is a provision of registration fee waiver up to 35 per cent for single woman.
