Land revenue official held red-handed with bribe
CHITWAN: Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) arrested an office assistant of Land Revenue Office, Chitwan red handed with bribe on Thursday.
The anti-graft body held Shankhar Prasad Dhital of Ratnanagar Municipality-9 while he was taking a bribe of Rs 25,000 from a service seeker, said Police Inspector, Bini Madhav Poudel.
“My land ownership certificate shows that I have only six dhur of land but as per the map and field details, I own 11 dhur," said the senior citizen on the condition of anonymity. “The LRO officials asked for bribe to adjust the differences in the legal documents.”
However, Dhital has claimed that he did not take bribe for reconciling differences on the service seeker's land ownership certificate and map of property.
