Land revenue, survey office to be set up in Lekhnath

Lekhnath, January 23

Preparations to set up a land revenue office and a survey department office have reached the final stage in Lekhnath of Kaski.

“Appointment of the Chief and some staffers at the revenue office has been finalised. However, we have yet to discuss the appointment of other staffers and handing over of the office buildings as well as formal documents. We will take a final decision on these matters soon,” stated officials at the Survey Department.

The government has appointed Chiranjibi Poudel as the Chief of Land Revenue Office and Gagan Dhakal as Chief of Land Survey Office. Poudel was serving as Local Development Officer in Myagdi while Dhakal was at the Land Survey Office in Kathmandu.

With the establishment of the offices, Lekhnath locals can access swift services, including procurement of land ownership certificates, land handover and drafting of land maps, among others.

“As both the offices keep records and prepare documents related to the real estate, the offices will be set up in locations that are accessible to local residents,” said sources. The department had called a tender for houses on lease to establish the offices a couple of days ago. So far around 11 landlords have expressed their interest to lease their houses and land for the offices in Shishuwa, Bhandardhik and Gagangauda areas.

Newly appointed Chief of the Land Revenue Office said they will start service delivery from  the newly set up office within a month.
