Hetauda, July 2

The monsoon downpour triggered a landslide at Amal Danda of Sishneri-3 along the Hetauda – Kulekhani road stretch of Madan Bhandari Highway this morning.

Hundreds of stranded vehicles en route to Kathmandu from Hetauda via Kulekhani took a detour through the Phakel road stretch, District Police Office, Makawanpur said.

However, another landslide struck at 2:00 pm at Sukaura Danda of Kulekhani VDC – 8 along the Phakel road blocking the way to Kathmandu, Phakel Police Post said.

Around 600 vehicles heading for Kathmandu from Hetauda have been stranded at Sukaura Danda, said Narayani Transportation Entrepreneurs Association Chairman Badri Prasad Chaulagain.

The technical team along with dozer has been dispatched to Amal Danda and Sukaura Danda to clear the road.

Chief District Officer Dr Man Bahadur Bishwokarma said they were making efforts to resume transportation at the earliest.
