The locals of Bhandari Gaun in Sidddheshwor VDC, who were hit by recent landslips have demanded relief and rescue.

This area in Bhojpur is very prone to landslides. It should be noted that the area was hit badly by incessant landslides a decade ago as well.

The landslide victims have started demanding relief besides rescue after the locality was badly hit due to continuous landslides that followed incessant rainfall.

The campaign led by Milan Bhandari, a local youth, demanded that the displaced be rehabilitated, relief be provided and immediate measures be taken to control the disaster, among others, with District Natural Disaster Rescue Committee, District Development Committee, District Red Cross Office and District Soil Conservation Office.

According to the residents, the area has been hit by natural disasters frequently since 1961. However, landslides had stopped at the site for the past one decade until this year’s mosoon season.
