Left alliance hopeful of forming new govt

Jhapa, November 18

CPN-UML Chair KP Sharma Oli and CPN-MC Chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal said the country would get a stable government in two months.

Speaking at a function organised by the Birtamod-based B&C Hosptial today, Oli said the new government would be people-centric. “The government of the left alliance will be accountable to people and ensure prosperity,” said the UML chair, who argued that the alliance between the two communist forces was an imperative in order to fulfil people’s wishes.

On his part, Dahal conceded that they failed to do much for people and country given the unstable governments of the past. “As the country has suffered all these years in the absence of a stable and strong government, our alliance is looking forward to forming a strong and stable government this time, which will guarantee prosperity of the country on an unprecedented scale,” he argued.

On a different note, Oli pledged that the next government will do the needful to grant the hospital a status of medical college. “Bring us the file and we will grant you permission,” he said, adding, “Opening up new medical colleges will stop the outflow of students aspiring to study medical abroad.”

He also praised the hospital for its infrastructures, while Dahal acknowledged his failure to grant the hospital medical college status during his premiership in the past.
