Left alliance wins five seats in Province 6, leading vote count

Initial results of provincial and parliamentary polls shows the left alliance’s dominant position in Province 6. The left alliance has already won five seats and is leading in 26 parliamentary and provincial seats in the province.
Independent candidate Chhakka Bahadur Lama has been elected as a Parliament member garnering 8,491 votes defeating his closest rival NC candidate Mangal Bahadur Shahi who garnered 8,4,44 votes in Humla.
CPN-UML’s Gopal Bam has been elected as a Parliament member garnering 13,034 votes. His closest contender NC’s Hasta Bahadur Malla got 9,861 votes.
Likewise, CPN-UML candidate Nanda Singh Budha has been elected as provincial assembly member from Constituency- Ka in Dolpa garnering 5,490 ballots while in Humla UML’s candidate Dal Bahadur Rawal has elected as a provincial assembly member with 5,313 ballots. UML’s candidate Padam Rokaya has been elected from Constituency- Kha in Jumla with 10,048 votes.
Vote counting is in progress in 12 parliamentary and 24 provincial constituencies of Province 6. However, in three constituencies of Salyan, vote counting is yet to begin. NC’s parliamentary candidate Purna Bahadur Khadka from Surkhet-1 and Jeeban Bahadur Shahi, a provincial candidate in Humla are leading vote count with a narrow margin. In all other constituencies, left alliance is leading the vote count.
