Leftist alliance anti-democratic force: PM Deuba

TAPLEJUNG: Prime Minister and Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba has claimed that the leftist alliance has been formed as an anti-democratic force.

Addressing an election gathering organised by his party in Phungling  of Taplejung district today, he said the communist alliance was against democracy, people and federalism. Establishment of a communist rule would make people's daily life full of fear and terror.

Expressing the view that the Congress was the only democratic force in the country, Prime Minister Deuba said the communists should be defeated in the coming elections for safeguarding the democracy. 'The election is a competition of choice between democracy and communism', he said.

NC central member Bal Krishna Khand claimed that the victory of the Nepali Congress was inevitable as it had stood as a unified force.

Nepali Congress HoR candidate from Taplejung Keshav Prasad Dahal and candidate to the provincial assembly Lila Devi Bokhim appealed to cadres to work to ensure their victory in the upcoming elections.

Earlier, Prime Minister Deuba paid homage to the famous Pathibhara temple in the district.
