Leopards terrorise locals in Khotang

Locals have been compelled to spend sleepless nights due to fear of leopards at Jantedhunga Rural Municipality in Khotang. The fear of wild animals has gripped the people of the rural municipality after leopards started killing domestic animals at night.
Kedar Raila, a local of Damberkhusibalaya, said a leopard killed his five goats while they were grazing in the jungle. “The leopard killed five of my goats, one after another within a week,” he added.
Locals further reported wild animals had also destroyed cattle sheds at the rural municipality.
Gajadhar Acharya, a teacher at Panchakanya Primary School, said he encountered a leopard that tried to attack him while he was heading home from school.
