Life limping back to normal in Bardiya

Life in Ganeshpur and Dallapur of Bardiya district is returning to normal after the clash between security forces and Maoists on Monday.
Spokesperson of the RNA’s mid- western regional divisional headquarters, Yagya Bahadur Rajaure, said, “Life after the clash in Ganeshpur and Dallapur has returned to normal from today.” Forty-six bodies of the Maoists found after the clash were buried yesterday, he said.
Superintendent of Police Ghananda Bhatta of the District Police Office, Bardiya, said although local residents informed that the additional bodies of the Maoists have been found but
their number could not be confirmed as the security forces have not reached the area. The situation is back to normal and local residents have returned to normal routine, he added.
There is a tight security in the area adjoining the Indian border, Bhatta informed. Two Maoists trying to escape were arrested by the Indian border security personnel, he said.
“Two Maoists called Krishna Bahadur Rokaya and Resham Sunar were arrested by the Indian Border Security Force while they were trying to enter India,” Bhatta added.
Quoting the Indian security personnel, he said, Rokaya was shot in his thigh and is receiving treatment at Baharaich hospital. A piece of K47, two pieces of SLR and a piece of 303 were seized from them, the security official informed.
A resident of Ganeshpur, Nasib Yadav, said a bomb and other explosives are lying scattered at the incident site.
Meanwhile, SP Bhatta said the security forces will leave for the incident site to diffuse unclaimed explosives.
The Dudha Primary School in Ganeshpur and Gauri Shanker Primary School in Dallapur remained shut today due to shock.
Headmaster of Gauri Shanker Primary School, Diwakar Mishra, said the students stopped coming to school because of fear. “The students are issued notice to attend classes from tomorrow,” he said.

Bardiya: The family heads are worried after five members of a family were injured during the Maoist attack in Ganeshpur on Monday evening.
Five members of Hariram Yadav’s family, whose house is located at Dhallapur of Mohmodpur VDC in Bardiya district, were hurt after the Maoists opened fire at the patrol team of the unified command.
Those injured in the Maoist attack are Yadav’s son Bijaya (8), daughters Rekha and Jannati (8), sister-in-laws Maya (37) and Ketaki (40). Sabitri Raidas and Chaurasha Yadav (40) who were injured on Monday evening are undergoing treatment at Bheri Zonal Hospital.
When Bijaya was giving drinking water to the security personnel, the Maoists opened fire from all sides. In the firing, Lal Bahadur Khatik of Saurahawa and Ture Teli were killed in vain, said Bijaya.The condition of Bijaya who sustained injures on his legs, hands and sensitive organ is said to be critical.
“Thanks to security personnel who dropped us at our house,” said Phalsara, wife of Hariram, who is taking care of the injured at the hospital. “Had the security forces not rescued us, we would have been killed,” she said.
“As we were playing we were shocked to find bombs being hurled towards us,” said Rekha from the hospital bed, adding the RNA men rescued us. — HNS
