Limestone excavator set ablaze in Chitwan
CHITWAN: An excavator that was being used for extraction of limestone in Kalika Municipality-9 of Chitwan district has been torched.
The excavator, which was used by Star Line Industries Pvt Ltd at a mine located in the municipality to excavate limestone, was set ablaze at around 4:00 am on Saturday.
Information Officer at Chitwan District Police Office, Deputy Superintendent of Police Prabhu Prasad Dhakal, quoted the locals and said, four persons came in two motorcycles and set fire to the excavator.
The engine of the excavator, which was taken on lease by the company, has been damaged.
A fire-engine was brought in from Bharatpur as soon as the incident came to light, and the fire was brought under control, said Dhakal.
It has been reported that pamphlets of Netra Bikram Chand (Biplav)-led Communist Party of Nepal were discovered at the incident site against the excavating company.
