Local levels tussle over project selection

DHANGADHI: With the ongoing project prioritising and evaluation, locals of various rural municipalities and wards have assembled to pick out and prioritise relevant development projects for their respective wards.

On the other hand, Dhangadhi Sub-Metropolitan and other rural municipalities are battling against time to finish the project evaluation process as legal provision requires the authorities to conclude municipal and rural council meetings on June 24.

In this backdrop, the locals are tussling over prioritising their development projects. Moreover, all 88 local levels of province 7 are witnessing regular discussions between locals on project selection in the past few days.

According to Dhangadhi Sub-Metropolitan City’s Mayor Nirpa Bahadur Odd, five wards have concluded discussions in his presence on Saturday.

“I have advised the participants to file in projects based on necessity than solicitations,” Mayor Odd said, “Although the demands are high we have a limited budget and those project which despite being good were left out will be included next year.”
