Local polls give positive message for constitution implementation

ITAHARI: CPN-UML leader Madhav Kumar Nepal has stated that the success of local level elections in all seven provinces had given a positive message for the implementation of new constitution.

Addressing a gathering of tourism entrepreneurs in Province 1in Itahari today, leader Nepal argued that the elections also sent a message eloquently to those dissenting political parties who were pressing for constitution amendment that their movements were irrelevant.

Leader Nepal also said that since Province 2 elections were capable of influencing the elections to the House of Representatives and State Assemblies, the result of the recently held election would help UML formulate strategy in view of these elections.

He underscored the need for the UML to be more active for upcoming elections.

Stating that the party felt the compulsion of winning the federal election as well, he urged party cadres and sister organisations to help the party leadership to successfully face that 'challenge'.

On the occasion, various working papers were presented focusing on the need to develop the Province 1 as a hub for tourist arrivals.
