‘Local polls soon’
DHANGADI: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for External Affairs Kamal Thapa said the government would hold local elections very soon.
Inaugurating a symposium in Dhangadhi on Monday, DPM Thapa said the civil servants were facing a hard time due to absence of people’s representatives at the local level for a long time.
He said local resources should be used properly for the country’s economic development and that utilisation of local resources would in a great deal help the country prosper economically also improving the condition of local economy in the most sustainable way.
Speaking to media persons at Dhangadhi Airport earlier on Monday, DPM Thapa said the blockade at Nepal-India border points had been lifted but there were obstructions on the Birgunj-Raxaul border.
