Locals clash with police, post torched

BAGLUNG: Accusing that the police did not make public the murderers of a twelfth grader at Galkot Higher Secondary School, the locals vandalised a temporary police post located at Hatiya VDC today. In the ensuing clash, 13 persons, including 7 police personnel were injured.

A communication set, office building and the furniture were destroyed when the locals torched the post. Police had fired tear gas shells and fired in the air to control the mob. Though there was no causality, property worth hundreds of thousand

has been destroyed in the incident.

The police detained two persons in connection to the murder of Sushila Sahani, 18, of Hatiya VDC-3. She was found dead nearby her house last Tuesday. Kin of Sahani claimed that her lover had murdered her.

According to Rakesh Singh, Police Inspector, District Police Office, the autopsy report showed that the dead was pregnant.

Police had detained her colleagues Dixan Malla and Sagar KC in connection to the incident. The duo have been kept at the Area Police Office, Harichaur, for investigation.

Hundreds of locals had demonstrated demanding to make the murder accused duo public. Schools and market places in Hatiya area has been shut following Sahani's murder. The infuriated locals said that they attacked the

police post as an all

party meeting held at

the post could not make any decision.
