ILAM: Locals freed Nisan Rai, who was captured on Tuesday for extortion, from Barbote on Wednesday. Rai, who had been extorting money by showing receipts of All-Nepal Peasants’ Union, agreed to pay Rs 5,000 to Dewan and Rs 900 to Ramesh Gurung in 15 days. Rai said he was a Janamorcha cadre.
