Sindhupalchowk, May 25:

As many as 150 enraged locals of Chautara VDC-1 today gheraoed the Nepal Electricity Authority branch office here to protest the disruption of power supply to their VDC since a fortnight.

Power supply to the VDC was disrupted after the NEA transformer was destroyed. Locals complained that even after getting information the NEA branch office made no arrangements for providing power.

Local Khil Bahadur Shrestha said he and his neighbours went thrice to the NEA branch office to ask for resumption of power supply but it paid no heed. He warned that they would padlock the NEA office if power weren’t restored.
