Siraha, July 22:

Locals in Phulbariya Village Development Committee of Siraha have recently laid a six-km road to link the VDC with the East-West Highway.

The rough road was gravelled with the financial assistance of Rs 250,000 provided by the Siraha District Development Committee and Rs 75,000 by the VDC, said VDC secretary Jaya Narayan Mahato. Locals also contributed labour worth over Rs 2 lakhs. Human Right and Development Centre, under the aid of Poverty Alleviation Fund, has started to blacktop the road.
