RAUTAHAT: Police arrested a man with pistol for threatening and robbing the pedestrians from Lal Bakaiya Bridge of Rautahat district on Wednesday.

Acting on a tip-off, the police was able to arrest Ramananda Mukhiya (20) of Kamaiya Karkacha, informed the District Police Office, Rautahat.

Mukhiya had other three companions as well, identified as locals Bali Mukhiya (30), Bijaya Mukhiya (20) and Ashok Mukhiya (16). However, they managed to run off from the place after knowing about the arrival of police.

Police also said that earlier, the looters had tried to rob the Indian register vehicle.

The search for the absconding suspects in underway, police added.
