Madhes agitation anarchic and prone to intolerance, claims Nepali Congress Vice-President

BHOJPUR: Nepali Congress Vice-President Ram Chandra Paudel on Thursday told mediapersons at Biratnagar Airport that the ongoing Tarai-Madhes agitation became anarchic and prone to intolerance.

Recalling the comportment of the United Democratic Madhesi Front cadres at the Ram-Janaki Vivaha Mahotsav programme attended by President Bidya Devi Bhandari in Jankapur yesterday, Paudel further stressed that such activity of the Front would harm the nation and its people.

Paudel said that he was not clear what the Madhesi Front strove for, despite the fulfilment of most of their demands. He informed that the talks had been undergoing to resolve the province boundary issues as the process also involves technical study.

Paudel remarked that the issues of citizenship and constituency delineation could be discussed in the meeting.

Responding to a different question, the NC Vice-President said that he would run for the party's presidential position in the upcoming 13th national general convention. He said he expected the cooperation from the incumbent NC President Sushil Koirala and senior leader Sher Bahadur Deuba.
