Madhesi struggle will continue, says Mahato

Rajbiraj, March 21

Sadbhawana Party Chair Rajendra Mahato today said that their agitation would continue until the rights of the Madhesi people were assured in all sectors of the state.

Speaking at a function organised in Saptari’s district headquarters Rajbiraj today, Mahato said they were changing the modality of the protest upon the request of people, as they had faced various hurdles due to months’ long blockade.

Accusing the Nepali Congress, CPN-UML and Unified CPN-Maoist of spreading bogus propaganda against their protest, he warned they would protest until their demands were met.

“There must be representation of the Madhesi people in the executive, legislative and judiciary. As time and again, the rulers have betrayed us, this agitation is against them, not against the nation and people from the hill community,” he argued, adding that his party valued the people from hill region living in the plains, but they also must accompany the marginalized Madhesi people.
