Madhesi Tigers’ bandh shuts Siraha

Siraha, July 27:

The first day of the two-day Siraha bandh called by the Madhesi Tigers today threw life in the district out of gear. The group has called the bandh to mark the 13th day of the death of its Siraha district in-charge Ganga Yadav. Vehicles stayed off the roads, while bazaars and educational institutions downed shutters today. Cadres of the Janatantrik Tarai Mukti Morcha (Goit) had killed Yadav at Kasaha, Ayodhyanagar , on July 18 on the charge of murdering JTMM (G) politburo member Binay Kumar Mahato (Suraj).

In a release issued here yesterday, the Tigers’ bureau commander, Chattan Singh, called for the bandh and constituted a new executive committee in Siraha. The 13-member committee was formed under the district in-charge Akrosh.

While Jung Bahadur is the group’s secretary, Diljale is the military commander and Bikrant and Chitta are joint military commanders. Tarzan, Saka, Shera, Sultan, Don, Akbar and Hazad are the committee’s members.
